Step number two this week is creating a realistic budget. Talking about finances is scary and intimidating. No one really likes to talk about it but the people who have had the best experience buying their house have a really deep understanding of how much money they can qualify for, how comfortable it is in their monthly budget to spend that on a home and that helps us when deciding what is a need and what is a want. When you are buying a new home you have trade offs, you really have to decide what is important to you. Having a budget will make this process smoother, easier and more enjoyable. The last thing you want to do is be in over your head because you spent too much. Or you haven’t spent enough money and you missed out on that third car garage, covered deck or something that was really important to you. Step two create a realistic budget.
